THE ADIRONDACK RAILTRAIL
The Railtrail is an exciting new addition to our area. It is a 34 mile, multi-use recreational trail available year-round. Rent one of our new fleet of comfortable pedal bikes and begin your discovery of this beautiful new trail.

The trail is generally flat with only mild inclines. The surface is mostly finely packed stone dust which provides a smooth riding experience. The trail is fully paved through the village of Saranac Lake. You'll enjoy some truly diverse and stunning scenery as you make your way along it. ​​​​​​​​

RENT A BIKE
Explore the Adirondack Railtrail on one of our new fleet of user friendly, comfortable pedal bikes.
Book your bike rental online above ($40 half day / $50 full day). You can access the Railtrail just up the street from our store.
We also offer transport to allow you to explore the farther reaches of the trail more easily. We can transport you and your bike to Lake Placid ($40) or Floodwood Road ($90) and then you have ride back to our store. Please reserve in advance for this service as our transport is often busy.

RENTAL TIPS

At road crossings please dismount and push the bike across as a pedestrian when it is clear. Motorists are still getting used to the new trail crossings and this is the safest way to cross the road.

Select a distance within your capabilities. Although it's pretty easy going on the Railtrail you can cover a lot of ground. Don't wait until you are tired to turnaround as you are only half way done at that stage! Take advantage of our transport services to see other parts of the trail without cycling the full distance.
