These self-guided trips options are chosen from some of our favorite local paddling destinations
and are perfect for discovering what the area has to offer. Reservations must be made in advance and all customers will be met at designated boat launch.

All self-guided paddling trips include canoe or kayak, PFD, paddles, a map of the route, and transportation of your canoe, kayak, or SUPs. 

LOWER SARANAC LAKE via Ampersand Bay

Enjoy paddling on the Adirondack's most scenic waterways. Small islands with rock outcroppings, open views, and great swimming await you. Pack a lunch and spend a leisurely day on the water, or discover the back bays and secret spots along the Lower Saranac Lake's miles of shoreline. A great paddling destination for the entire family.

WHAT TO DO ON LOWER SARANAC LAKE: 
Eagle Island Tour with a stop at the Sister Islands: 2-3 hours
​Paddle to Bluff Island, picnic, and swim: 4-5 hours.
Island Tour, picnic, and swim: 5-6 hours.

FRIENDLY SUGGESTIONS:
sun protection: Hats, sun screen, bug spray, light-weight long sleeves
energy: Bring more than enough food to fuel yourself for the day! Many local eateries provide great take-out for a day on the water. And don't forget the water!!
​clothing: Be prepared to get wet, and that means get your feet wet!! Bring appropriate clothing for the days forecast.
gear: Rent a dry bag from us to keep your dry stuff dry.

lower saranac lake via second pond

First and Second Ponds offer the quickest route to the island of Lower Saranac Lake. With Bluff Island  approximately 20 minutes from the launch, small islands with rock outcroppings, open views, and great swimming await you. Pack a lunch and spend a leisurely day on the water, or discover the back bays and secret spots along the Lower Saranac Lake's miles of shoreline. A great paddling destination for the entire family.

MIDDLE SARANAC LAKE via South Creek

Spend the day on one of the most beautiful waterways in the Adirondacks. Middle Saranac Lake you'll enjoy large sandy beaches, panoramic views, exploring Weller Pond to the North and the Saranac River to the East. 

WHAT TO DO ON MIDDLE SARANAC LAKE: 
Middle Saranac beach tour: 3-5 hours (depends on how long you hang out)
Explore Weller Pond: 4-6 hours.
Paddle to the Upper Locks: 4-6 hours.

THE RAQUETTE RIVER & STONEY CREEK via axton landing

The Raquette River offers a gentle flow that can be paddled both directions with ease, upstream or down. The Raquette wanders through mixed hardwood forests bordered by the Western High Peaks Wilderness Area. 
WHAT TO DO ON THE RAQUETTE RIVER & STONEY CREEK: 
Axton Landing to Raquette Falls: 6 hours.
Axton Landing to Stoney Creek Ponds: 4 hours.
Axton Landing: 2 hours.
